Desktop Snapshots

Using Desktop Snapshots

Snapshots let you effectively back up your virtual machine so you can restore it with ease.

For instance, if you're about to carry out an upgrade that could potentially stuff up your system, you can shut down your virtual machine and grab a snapshot beforehand.

If the upgrade goes off without a hitch, the snapshot can be removed; if things go pear-shaped, you can simply roll back the machine to its previous state.

Snapshots are available right across all DaDesktop types, meaning Fresh Start, Trainer, Participant, and Standalone machines can all make use of them.

Just a heads-up: when you restore a snapshot, the machine will be powered down and ready for a restart.

Selecting Snapshots

Here's how to take a snapshot. Give it a clear, descriptive label so you'll know exactly when it was captured.
