Recycle Bin

After a course wraps up, all its machines—including Fresh Start, the Trainer, and every Participant machine—are cleared out after a short while.

A feature’s been added so you can pull these machines back out of the 'Recycle Bin' for a period after they’ve been removed from the course. How long you’ve got to restore them depends on a few things like server disk space, overall course usage, and isn’t tied to a fixed timeframe, but you can generally expect machines to be recoverable for at least a couple of months after the course finishes up.
 

Each machine can be Restored back to its Course, if the Course is still around, otherwise it can be Restored to a Standalone Desktop, or if you’d rather, Deleted entirely.
 

The state of your Recycle bin is shown by the Recycle Bin Icon. If it’s black, there are machines ready to be restored; if it’s greyed out, there’s nothing in the bin available for recovery.
 

You can also search through the list of machines in your recycle bin by name, server name, or course name.

How to Restore or Delete your machines from the Recycle Bin

1. Restore - This is used to bring back a machine that was removed from a course. It will be restored straight back to the course it belongs to. If the course has finished, the machine can’t be restored there, so you’ll need to restore it as a Standalone machine instead—check the next option.
2. Restore to Standalone Desktop - Usually you’d use this when your course has finished and you can’t restore the machine there. Restoring to a Standalone machine gives you more flexibility, as the machine will be kept around as long as you need it.
3. Delete - To fully remove a machine from the Recycle Bin, use 'Delete'. Just a heads up—once it’s deleted from the Recycle bin, the machine can’t be restored.
4. Empty Recycle Bin - Hitting the red Empty Recycle Bin button will wipe out all your machines from the Recycle Bin, and once that’s done, they can’t be used again.
