PC Farm (Bare Metal)

In addition to our cloud solutions, DaDesktop can arrange access to physical bare metal desktops or servers for your training needs.

This setup is designed for situations where each participant requires their own dedicated physical machine. It’s proven its worth in the following kinds of scenarios, where attendees need to work with:

1. an entire physical server without any virtualisation layer, for performance or licensing requirements (think ONAP, OpenStack)
2. hardware that can't be virtualised, such as certain GPUs, Mellanox cards when the course covers firmware adjustments, or other specific network kit

This approach also slots nicely into an existing physical classroom with only a few tweaks, letting the instructor set everything up remotely without having to be on site.

The Cloud Desktop images normally used in the cloud can be taken and deployed directly onto the participants’ physical boxes.

Requirements for rolling it out on site

To make this work, you'll need to purchase a physical control cable for each desktop (known as a ddnexus), at roughly 100USD a pop.
