Resizing the disk of a Fresh-Start desktop in a course

If an existing Fresh-Start machine is running low on disk space, you can quickly resize it to add more room.

1. First up, you'll need to stop the Fresh-Start machine.
2. Then go ahead and Clone & Resize to Standalone as shown below (set up an organisation if you haven't already).
3. At this point, bump up the disk size to what you need, then submit.
4. Head to the 'Standalones' link at the top of the page to find it and confirm it's there.
5. Back in the course, get rid of the Fresh-Start machine using the 'Delete' button.
6. Click the 'Create Fresh-Start from my Standalone' button.
   
    
7. Inside the 'Create from Standalone' dialog, you can also increase the disk size there if you skipped that earlier.
   
8. Add an Alias name if you need one, then click the 'Create Desktop' button.
9. For standard DaDesktop Linux and Windows OS templates, the operating system will be expanded or grown automatically. Note: AlmaLinux standard templates configure their default partitions differently, so you'll need to follow the extra manual steps below.
10. For custom OS templates, automatic partition extension may need to be done by hand – the steps are shown below.

 

For custom OS templates and Almalinux standard templates, follow these steps to extend the partitions

1. Follow the instructions to resize your desktop's partitions.
   
   - Open a terminal or command prompt.
   - Enter the commands below.
   
   1.  Ubuntu & Debian
   
   
   
   2.  Almalinux / CentOS
   
   
   
   3. Windows 10 pro
