Reliable Controls is a Canadian outfit that designs intelligent building controllers. They supply six different products to customers right across the globe. Each year, following a product update, they run between 20 and 24 online sessions for more than 300 users. Historically, this meant supplying computers with the software pre-loaded. As the company expanded, the mounting training overhead prompted them to seek a solution that could slash costs while delivering a better experience for their clients.

How They Found DaDesktop

The manager, Nate, stumbled upon DaDesktop through a Google search. He noticed it was a cloud desktop purpose-built for training. He got in touch with the DaDesktop crew, took the remote training for a spin himself, and made the call to adopt it as their core training platform.

The trainer simply sets up a virtual classroom and pings a link to the students. Whether someone’s joining from the US, Brazil, or Africa, they just click the link and they’re inside the virtual desktop, good to go.

Students can view the trainer’s screen and their own side by side, which makes it dead easy to compare and follow along. The trainer has a bird’s-eye view of all student screens at once, so supervising and giving guidance is a breeze. They can even take remote control of a student’s desktop to lend a hand at any moment. One user from Europe remarked that it feels like “the trainer is sitting right next to us.”
